People always face problem on running out battery when using laptop
computer during travel. How to get that battery runs longer?
#1 Choosing a
Power Scheme
The first things you should do is to choose a power scheme. Windows XP
offers different Power Schemes (under Control Panel) for computer to
run. You can choose one or create your own profiles. Different power
scheme have different settings, like when the monitor and hard disks
should be turned off. The power schemes to choose depends on what
operations you run on computer.
#2 Dimming Your Screen
Your screen and hard drive use up more power than any other parts of
your computer. You can dim down your screen to a point where your eyes
still feel comfortable but you also save energy. On most laptops, you
can dim the screen by holding down the “Fn” key.
#3 Turning Off Your Screen
In Control Panel, you can find the Power Options and click on the Power
Schemes Tab. Choose how quickly you’d like your monitor to turn off when
you’re not actively using it.
#4 Turn Off Wireless Network Card
Wireless network card is another drain on your battery power. If you
don’t need it, turn it off. You can locate the wireless network in
control panel > Network Connections, right-click and disable it.
