Circle to Search feature in Chrome Desktop

Earlier this year, Google introduced the Circle to Search feature on the Android platform for its Pixel series phones and Samsung Galaxy S24 series. Users can easily circle the image or text on the screen of the device to search for. This new feature have been widely accepted by the users.

Recently, Google has also brought Circle to Search to the desktop version of the Chrome browser. The Circle to Search feature in the Chrome desktop version can be seen as an improvement and evolution of Google Lens, making the operation more similar to that on phones.

Support for Chrome desktop version
Using Circle to Search in the Chrome desktop version is very simple. Simply click on the address bar, and then the Google Lens button will appear on the right. Or user can perform a search by pressing CTRL+F or Command+F on Mac, which will also display the Google Lens button.

Circle image or text for search
Clicking on Google Lens will show an overlay effect on the original webpage, allowing you to use the mouse to select the part you want to search for. After selecting, an instant search will be performed which will display the results on the right-hand side. There is also a search bar where you can add more keywords for further search. In addition to selecting images, you can also select text for search and even perform translations.

This improved Circle to Search feature of Google Lens has been launched in Chrome version 127. Feel free to use it to quickly and conveniently search various content on webpages, enhancing work efficiency.
