During the normal operation, windows registry data is constantly being written to and removed from the registry. Over time this data becomes scattered within the registry file. When information is deleted from the registry, holes are left which fragment the data within the registry. By compacting the registry data, the system performance can be improved.
Free Registry Defrag is a freeware that scans and optimizes windows registry by removing gaps and wasted space, thereby helping to improve system performance.
The process to perform Registry Defrag is simple.
1. Click the “Analyzing Registry” button and the software will analyze your registry. The process may takes few minutes.
2. After the analyzing is completed, it will show you the report and tell you the size of the current registry files and the estimated size after compacting/defragging.
3. To perform Registry Defrag, click the “Compact/Defrag Registry” button. It will start the defrag process and it also takes few minutes to complete. Once the process is completed, you will be prompted to reboot your machine to complete the defrag.
